According to Youth Soccer Centeral, the MLS Next Cup MVP and All-Star, Marcus Lee has embarked on a new chapter by joining the Philadelphia Union for the upcoming 23/24′ season.
Notably, Lee secured a victory in the 2022 MLS Next Cup with Strikers FC. Even more impressively, at just 15 years old, he made history in the 2022 Open Cup as the youngest scorer in the tournament’s 109-year history, while playing for Cal United Strikers FC.
He was spotted by Cal United FC after his standout performance.
Marcel Lowitsch, coach and trainer stated, “It was the right decision to send him to Philadelphia for a one week tryout. I saw enough in my trainings and I knew he can make it and prove the ones who didn’t see his potential that they were wrong. Our work is almost done and he learns a good philosophy of playing football over there.”
With this exciting move to the Philadelphia Union, Marcus Lee is forcing the soccer world to take notice of what California has known for some time – he’s one of the best.
